Peace adviser Teresita Deles stays

Embattled presidential peace adviser Teresita Deles continues to enjoy the confidence of President Aquino, Malacañang said on Sunday.

“The President has not given any indication that he is unhappy with Secretary Deles and we remain of the position that she continues to enjoy the trust and confidence of the President,” deputy spokesperson Abigail Valte told state radio dzRB.

Deles had come under criticism from lawmakers like Sen. Francis Escudero who ask her to explain issues such as the “areas of temporary stay” for the rebel group that figured in the ambush of the soldiers in Al-Barka, Basilan.
