Two unidentified men were shot dead by police near Palanca Street in Manila on Wednesday night.

Reports said the police, on their way back to the police station from conducting anti-drug campaign visits in the neighborhood, encountered three suspicious looking men along a narrow street near Quiapo.

The police shot at them after one of the men reached for his gun.

Two were killed on the spot while the third one escaped.

A caliber .38 revolver was recovered from the scene.
