FORT MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City — Two men, working at the construction site of the Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabitation Center here, were arrested for possessing an unlicensed weapon inside this camp on Tuesday (Dec. 20).

Sarex Base and Zaldy Garcia, who were described as subcontractors from Rizal province, were turned over to the city police by the Philippine Army’s military police when they discovered a .45-pistol and live bullets concealed in Base’s bag at 8 a.m.

The soldiers inspected their vehicle after one of the workers, Erickson Botalan, 29, complained that the men had threatened him. Base and Garcia have been charged with illegal gun possession.  SFM
