Sudden showers, yes, but no storms during holiday break—Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines—There will be no storms to spoil the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day, but the weather bureau advised those going outdoors to prepare for sudden downpours.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the entire country would be partly or mostly cloudy on November 1 and 2.
Temperatures throughout the archipelago would hover between 23C and 34C, it said.
In its weather advisory on Sunday, Pagasa said Luzon would be under a wind convergence zone, which would generate isolated rain showers in the afternoon or evening.
The weather system would bring a cloud cover to the region, including Metro Manila, Pagasa said.
The northeast monsoon will prevail over Luzon.
Pagasa warned that coastal waters would be moderate to rough due to the northeast monsoon. Elsewhere, the seas will generate slight to moderate waves.
Eastern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao may experience damper weather.
A low pressure area (LPA) has formed off the coast of eastern Mindanao, Pagasa said. But it is unlikely to become a tropical depression and bring widespread rains.
Pagasa said it would be monitoring the LPA as it has embedded itself in the intertropical convergence zone over Mindanao.
The weather bureau warned residents in the region to prepare for scattered rain showers.
