Longer nights in PH starting Wednesday

/ 12:01 PM December 21, 2016

The Philippines will start to experience longer nights starting Wednesday night as the sun reaches the winter solstice.

The sun will reach the winter solstice, a phenomenon which marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, at 6:44 p.m. (PST), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its astronomical diary.

“This marks the time when the Sun lies at its farthest point south of the equator,” Pagasa said.
