Cops nab ‘Madam’ in Lucena drug buy-bust

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested a woman suspected to be a top drug trafficker during a buy-bust operation here Tuesday morning, police said.

Supt. Dennis de Leon, Lucena City police chief, said anti-drug operatives led by Senior Insp. Rodolfo Borromeo, nabbed Lea Mendoza, 37, known among her drug user clients as “Madam,” after she sold one small plastic sachet of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover agent in Barangay (village) Ilayang Iyam around 7 a.m.

Twenty-two small plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 90.9 grams worth P168,000 and proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs worth P10,000 were seized from the suspect.

Report said Mendoza was one of the major suppliers of shabu in the city. She also has a pending drug trafficking case at the Regional Trial Court-Branch 56 here, according to the police.  SFM
