Angat Dam to release water on Tuesday
CITY OF MALOLOS — December rains have prompted the Angat Dam to discharge water on Tuesday morning (Dec. 20), the National Power Corporation announced on Monday (Dec. 19).
Rains dumped by the northeast monsoon had increased the dam’s reservoir elevations to 213.90 meters above sea level (masl), which breached the facility’s normal high level of 212 masl, the National Power Corporation, the dam manager, said
To ease the pressure on the reservoir, Napocor said it would release 68 cubic meters per second (cms) of water at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Napocor said the volume of water to be released was minimal and would not trigger flooding in low lying areas of Bulacan. SFM/rga
