Moderate to occasionally heavy rain will be experienced over the Bicol region while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate rain, the weather bureau said on Sunday.

In its 24-hour weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tail-end of a cold front was affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon, while the northeast monsoon was affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

Pagasa said the moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms over the Bicol region may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao region.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa added.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and the Eastern Visayas,” Pagasa said. “Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough,” it added.

“Light to moderate winds coming from the northeast will prevail over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas,” the weather bureau said. CBB/rga
