Dec. 26, Jan. 2 are holidays
If you ain’t having a merry little Christmas yet, don’t fret.
Malacañang has added two more days to this year’s Christmas holidays, allowing Filipinos to have more time to enjoy what is regarded as the longest Yuletide season in the world.
Acting Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra signed Proclamation No. 117 declaring Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, 2017, special nonworking holidays on orders of President Duterte.
While Dec. 25., or Christmas Day, and Jan. 1, or New Year’s Day, are regular holidays in the Philippines, both fall on a Sunday this Yuletide period.
Guevarra said the additional holidays would provide the “people full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families and loved ones.”
