Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II was tight lipped about the executive session held at the Senate on the November 5 killing of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. except saying that they were summoned to clarify and tie some “loose ends.”

“Yung mga loose end, yung mga ika-clarify. Yun lang sa Albuera killing, yung kay Mayor Rolando Espinosa,” Aguirre told reporters after attending the closed-door meeting of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs chaired by Senator Panfilo Lacson.

Asked what were those loose ends, the official said, “Hindi pwede kasi executive session nga.”

But Aguirre disclosed the senators’ request for them to expedite the preliminary investigation on the Espinosa killing.

“Gusto lang nila bilisan ko yung preliminary investigation,” he said.

He said the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) findings, showing that the killing of the mayor was a “rub out,” and not a shootout, was also brought up during the meeting.

But Aguirre also refused to reveal what was further discussed about the NBI report. CBB
