BAGUIO CITY — A Grade 10 student was stabbed 40 times in an alley staircase used as a shortcut to a Baguio high school at 6:55 a.m., Tuesday (Dec. 13), police said.

Kenneth Velasco, 16, died on the way to a local hospital. He was headed for the Pines City National High School and was using the shortcut through Labsan village from Naguilian Road.

This route connects to the back entrance of the high school, which is a block away from the Baguio City Hall.

The Baguio police said a witness saw a teenaged boy walk past from the crime scene towards the Labsan Barangay (village) Hall.

The boy glanced at the witness as he descended, when the witness heard someone scream, “Adda Natay (Someone is dead here).”

Velasco was found slumped on the pavement, wearing a Pines City National High School uniform.

The police is reviewing CCTV footages in the area, as well as collecting witness accounts to track down killer or killers.  SFM
