The state weather bureau on Tuesday afternoon raised a yellow rainfall warning in the province of Quezon due to rains brought by the low pressure area within the Philippine area of responsibility.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued the warning at 3 p.m. and advised residents to take precautionary measures against flooding.

Under a yellow alert, flooding is possible in low-lying areas due to heavy rains (7.5 to 15 mm/hr).

Pagasa said light to moderate rains are also affecting Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Laguna, and Batangas which may persist for two to three hours.

Light to moderate rains  are also expected over Tarlac and Bataan within the next three hours, it added.
