The low pressure area that brought moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Bicol on Monday is not expected to intensify into a cyclone, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low pressure area will dissipate within one to two days.
The low pressure area was in the vicinity of Mercedes, Camarines Norte on Monday. PAGASA warned of possible flashfloods and landslides due to heavy rains over Camarines and Quezon provinces.
PAGASA said Bicol and the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Marinduque and Samar experienced light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon that usually brings cold weather over most of the country during this time is limited only to northern Luzon, according to the weather bureau.
