Three men on the drug watch list were shot dead by the so-called “bonnet gang” in Pateros on Friday and Saturday.
The police said all three killings were carried out by four armed men on motorcycles wearing bonnets or helmets, earning the perpetrators the moniker “bonnet gang.”
Around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Quintin Limochin, 45, jobless, was gunned down near his home on G. Flores Street, Barangay San Pedro.
Past midnight Thursday, John Lester Certeza, 41, was shot dead on P. Rosales Street in Barangay Sta. Ana.
A certain alias Baton was also killed on M. Almeda Street, Barangay Sto. Rosario-Silangan more than an hour later.
Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III had raised the issue of a hike in vigilante killings in the town with Interior Secretary Mike Sueno during a meeting with Metro Manila mayors on Nov. 24.
During the meeting, Ponce said 37 drug suspects have been killed in Pateros since July or when President Duterte assumed office.
