A low pressure area (LPA) on Sunday was spotted at 840 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Camarines provinces and Quezon.

Eastern Visayas, the rest of Bicol region and the province of Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, while cloudy skies with light rains are expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Cordillera.

Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over northern and central Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough, while light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas,” it added.
