Ilocos Norte village chief slain by motorcycle-riding gunmen

PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte — The village chief of Barangay Catalina here was shot dead on his way home on Friday evening (Dec. 9).

Zosimo Corpuz, 55, was on his way home after attending a Christmas lantern parade in the town center, when motorcycle-riding men attacked him.

Police said Corpuz was shot six times.

Investigators recovered six empty shells fired from a caliber 45 pistol at the crime scene.
