Businessman killed in clash with Ecija cops

CABANATUAN CITY – A businessman and his companion were killed in a clash with policemen on Friday in Barangay (village) Bantug Norte here.

Ferdinand Reyes, 35, a chicken dealer, and Danilo Llanes, 40, drew guns during a buy-bust operation at 3 a.m. and fired at the police, triggering the gunfight that killed them, said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, chief of police.

Forensic investigators recovered eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a cal. 40 pistol and a cal. 45 pistol. Police also impounded the car used by the suspects. JE
