Albay village official, gangman shot dead

LEGAZPI CITY — A village councilman and an alleged member of a gun-for-hire group in the Bicol region were killed in Oas, Albay, Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Arthur Gomez, information officer of Albay police, said Gregorio Siano, 53, of Barangay Bacolod, Libon town, was shot by a male assailant while driving his motorcycle along Barangay Manga at about 2:50 p.m.

On December 6 at about 5 p.m., Benjie Garing of Barangay Nogpo of Libon town, an alleged member of the Concepcion crime group, was killed by unidentified gunmen. His companion, Eugene Berina of Barangay Marayag, sustained gunshot wounds in his left leg.

Garing was at the wheel of a motorcycle and Berina was his backrider when the shooting took place.

Gomez said investigators were still looking into the motive behind the two incidents. CBB
