President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday blasted his “yellow” critics whom he said could not accept defeat and wanted to oust him from power.

“Yung Mga yellow diyan nagde-demonstrate kayo (You, the yellow groups, are launching anti-government demonstrations; you want me out because you cannot accept defeat,” Duterte said during his speech at the United Nation’s Convention against Corruption in Malacañang.

Yellow refers to the political color of the former ruling Liberal Party of former President Benigno Aquino III.

He said the growing protests against him were purely political.

“They (Left) would never even allow me to step down, two steps to the ground. Yang mga komunista, yung NPA puro Duterte (The communists, the New People’s Army they are all pro-Duterte),” he said.

The President said the yellow groups wanted him out because they wanted their partymate Vice President Leni Robredo to be in power.

“They wanted me out…of course the Vice President will take over. You had your chance,” he said.

“When did the drug problem blossom?” Duterte asked, apparently referring to the previous administration.
