Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has pointed to the “Dutertard trolls” as the ones circulating rumors that he and the Magdalo group were allegedly plotting a coup against the present administration.
“Hindi totoo yang rumors na kumakalat na yan sa text at saka social media na nagpaplano raw kami ng coup at nasa likod daw kami ng kung anong mga terror activities. Hindi po totoo yan (There’s no truth to the rumors circulating via text [messages] and social media that we’re planning a coup and that we’re behind those terror activities,” Trillanes told reporters on Wednesday.
The senator reiterated that there was no need to plot President Rodrigo Duterte’s ouster as he is “self-destructing” anyway.

“Ang mga nasa likod nitong mga kumakalat na ito ay yung mga Dutertard trolls na walang magawa kundi i-divert yung issue from the gross incompetence and shortcomings ng Duterte administration (Those behind these [rumors] being spread around are the Dutertard trolls who do nothing but divert the issue from gross incompetence and shortcomings of the Duterte administration),” he said.
“Dutertards” are often attributed to Duterte’s supporters.
Trillanes has been vocal against Duterte, who he accused of masterminding the alleged extra-judicial killings in Davao City when he was still the city mayor.
The senator is now also accusing the President of being behind the death of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. on November 5, following Duterte’s pronouncement that he would not allow the police allegedly involved in the killing to go to jail. TVJ
