CABANATUAN CITY — A policeman and a male companion were killed by unidentified gunmen who ambushed them on Sunday night (Dec. 4), a belated police report stated.
PO1 Luis Cordova III and the backrider of his motorcycle were shot dead by the gunmen at 10:30 p.m. in Purok Perigola, Barangay (village) Valdefuente.
A closed circuit television camera caught a pick-up truck speeding away from the crime scene. It might have been used as a getaway vehicle by the killers, police said.
Cordova was detailed at the Nueva Ecija police’s provincial public safety company (PPSC), said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief. Police have not been able to identify the policeman’s slain passenger, who was carrying .22 revolver and two small plastic sachets containing a still-undetermined substance. Cordova was armed with his service pistol. SFM/rga
