MARAWI CITY – A member of a Special Action Force (SAF) unit was wounded when an improvised explosive device went off during a raid on houses allegedly owned by relatives of members of the Maute group in Marawi City on Tuesday dawn.

Col. Joselito Pastrana, chief of 65th Infantry Battalion, said the raid was conducted on the houses of Farhana Romato Maute, Abdullah Romato Maute, Mohammad Kyayam Abdulrahman Romato Maute, Hamsa Romato Maute, Abdulazis Romato Maute and Mahatir Romato Maute.

Pastrana said the wounded police officer stepped on a wire attached to an improvised bomb.

The 2 a.m. raid was conducted jointly by the Army, the police’s SAF and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. CBB/rga
