“Campus press an engine of democracy” will be the focus of the 18th Inkblots, an annual gathering organized by the Varsitarian, the 88-year-old official publication of the University of Santo Tomas.

The Varsitarian invites all campus journalists, media practitioners, and journalism and communication enthusiasts to the event, which takes place from Dec. 19 to 21 at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex Auditorium at the UST campus on España in Manila.

Speakers will discuss how campus journalists, like mainstream media practitioners, can contribute to the national discourse and good governance. They will hold sessions in news writing, feature writing, sports writing, and photojournalism, among others.

Limited slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a registration fee of P1,600, which will incude an Inkblots fellowship kit, lunch, and snacks.

For inquiries, contact Angela Coloma at 0977-649-8442, Winona Sadia at 0916-791-7582, or the Varsitarian office at 406-1611, loc. 8235. You may also e-mail varsitarianinkblots@gmail.com.
