Bato admits ‘kumpare’ asked him to reinstate Supt. Marcos to CIDG

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa revealed that the higher-up who asked him to reinstate Supt. Marvin Marcos before the death of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. was his “kumpare.”

In an apparent disregard of the process of reinstatement, Dela Rosa said he granted the request of his pal, whom he did not identify, to bring back Marcos and “his group” to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 8.

“Pre, yung grupo ni Marcos nagpapatulong kasi kawawa ‘yung pamilya na maiiwan nila doon tapos ililipat sila sa Crame so baka pwede i-reconsider mo ‘yung decision mo na tanggalin sila doon,” he recalled during a press conference at Camp Crame on Thursday.
