Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) will hold anti-Marcos protests during the International Human Rights Day on Dec. 10.

“The victims of Marcos and all victims of state fascism will continue to fight for justice, freedom and democracy as we gear for mass actions on Dec. 10, International Human Rights Day,” Renato Reyes of Bayan said on Wednesday, which was also the birthday of Filipino revolutionary Andres Bonifacio.

Reyes said that unlike former President Ferdinand Marcos, Bonifacio truly deserved the title of “hero” as his deeds encompassed national liberation and democracy.

“Bonifacio did not steal nor violate the rights of the people. He was no puppet of any foreign power. Bayan also pays tribute to other heroes of the Filipino people whose names will be enshrined at the Bantayog ng Bayani today,” he added.

Bayan also joined the nationwide Black Friday rally in Luneta last week, protesting the stealthy burial of the late strongman at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in Taguig City.
