Pangasinan village chief, family killed in ambush

DAGUPAN CITY – A village chief of Santa Barbara town in Pangasinan province and members of his family were killed on Tuesday night (Nov. 29) by motorcycle riding gunmen.

Cecilio Ballesteros, barangay (village) captain of Banzal, his son Brian Jose, his brother Dionisio, and his brother-in-law Manuel Aquino headed home in a tricycle when they were attacked as they crossed the Malanay Bridge in Malanay village, police said.

Ballesteros suffered multiple gunshots in the different parts of his body and died inside the tricycle.

His son, brother and brother-in-law were shot and killed as they fled from the tricycle.
