Man looking for cow drowns in flood in Cagayan

SANTIAGO CITY — Police recovered the body of a man who drowned on Monday as he waded through rising floodwater to look for his missing cow in Claveria town in Cagayan province.

Strong rains pounded Cagayan and parts of Isabela province and triggered floods on Monday and Tuesday, the Cagayan Task Force Lingkod-Bayan said.

Floods affected low-lying villages in Cagayan, prompting Gov. Manuel Mamba to suspend classes from pre-school to high school on Tuesday.
