Solons acted like sex-starved teens

/ 01:30 AM November 26, 2016

Congressmen investigating Sen. Leila de Lima’s alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade on Thursday behaved like prurient or sex-starved adolescents.

Instead of focusing on her links to illegal drugs, they delved into her sexual exploits with former driver, lover and alleged collector Ronnie Dayan.

They really belong to the Lower House of Congress.

These so-called representatives of the people were acting like the Inquisition when some of them said De Lima could be disbarred for having sex with a married man.

As if these people are of the highest moral character!

C’mon, guys, I know some of you backed out of buying high-class condominium units for your mistresses after the pork barrel was ruled illegal by the Supreme Court.

I’m not defending De Lima; I’m only saying don’t hit her below the belt.

You forget, rogues (that’s what you are with your actuation in the committee hearing), that when you point an accusing finger at someone, three fingers point back at you.

Yes, after hearing all the accusations against De Lima, she was really involved in the illicit drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison as its protector.

No matter how much she denies it, the facts seem to be indisputable.

Philippine National Police Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa cried when he learned the extent of his trusted men’s involvement in the narcotics trade in Eastern Visayas.

Confessed drug lord in Region 8 Kerwin Espinosa named the police officials and their underlings who were on his payroll during a Senate committee hearing on Wednesday.

The most notorious of these was Chief Insp. Jovi Espenido, Albuera, Leyte, police chief, who prepared a false affidavit supposedly executed by Mayor Rolando Espinosa, Kerwin’s father.

The affidavit named Leyte Rep. Vicente “Ching” Veloso, Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez and some local journalists as protectors.

Kerwin said his father had nothing to do with the drug trade and he did not know the persons in the affidavit.

It now appears Mayor Espinosa was killed by cops on the take who wanted to cover up their misdeeds.
