To stop corruption, Customs eyes mass promotion of employees

The Bureau of Customs is planning a mass promotion of its employees next month as part of efforts to boost the morale of agency personnel and discourage corruption, according to agency spokesperson Neil Estrella.

Estrella, in a press briefing in Malacañang, said BOC chief Nicanor Faeldon wants to implement the mass promotion by December 2016.

The BOC’s rank and file who have not been promoted in the last five years and  have no pending cases would be covered by the directive, said Estrella.

If this pushes through, this would be the first mass promotion in 12 years, he added.

“Commissioner Faeldon said this will help boost morale in the bureau, promote professionalism, and encourage employees to avoid corrupt activities,” he said./rga
