JAEN, Nueva Ecija — A father and his son have been jailed for the killing of a 17-year-old woman found dumped on Tuesday (Nov. 22) near an irrigation canal in Sto. Tomas North village here.

Leopoldo De Jesus and his son, Leonard, were charged on Wednesday (Nov. 23) for the murder of Ma. Pauline dela Cruz, whose remains were found at 7 a.m.

Chief Insp. Joel dela Cruz, Jaen police chief, said De Jesus and his son were caught attempting to conceal blood at their compound by covering it with sand.

The police also recovered a piece of Pauline’s earring there.

Pauline was last seen jogging on Tuesday morning.

“We followed a trail of blood to the De Jesus compound and found the two men,” dela Cruz said.

De Jesus, Pauline’s uncle, and his son have denied harming the teenager.

Dela Cruz said the two men might face rape charges, depending on the results of the forensic examination of the crime scene and the autopsy.  SFM
