VACC hands P1M to tipster in Dayan’s arrest

The Volunteer Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) on Thursday handed the P1-million reward money it promised for information that would lead to the arrest of Ronnie Dayan, Sen. Leila de Lima’s former driver and boyfriend.

The VACC turned over the money to the tipster that gave information leading to Dayan’s arrest last Tuesday in La Union.

The turnover coincided with the resumption of the House justice committee hearing on the proliferation of drugs at the New Bilibid Prison.

FEATURED STORIES

Majority Leader Rudy Fariñas, Philippine National Police Ronald dela Rosa, and lawyer Ferdinand Topacio led the turnover.

The VACC earlier committed a P100,000 reward money for Dayan’s arrest, but raised it to P1 million last week.

Dayan was cited in contempt and ordered arrest for snubbing the House hearings on the NBP illegal drug trade.

Dayan is being accused of collecting drug money at the national penitentiary to fund the senatorial campaign of then justice secretary De Lima. CBB
