Cops arrest owner of factory in blast that killed 2 kids, mother

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – The owner of a firecracker manufacturing compound which exploded on Nov. 23 and killed three people, two of them children, has been arrested.

Wilfredo Alonzo, 49, proprietor of the AA Fireworks in Sta. Maria town, was charged with reckless imprudence leading to multiple homicides when the compound blew up on Wednesday, killing two-year-old Ashley Mayo and her brother, five-year-old Brylee, said Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director.

Their mother, Mary Grace Mayo, 28, died  in a hospital. The three went to the factory to bring food to Benjie Mayo, the slain children’s father, who works in the factory that produces kuwitis (sky rocket). CDG/rga
