Gunmen charged for attempted murder of Pangasinan radio anchor

DAGUPAN CITY — The police have filed cases of frustrated murder against two tricycle drivers for the Nov. 8 shooting of Virgilio Maganes, a columnist of Northern Watch newspaper and a radio commentator and anchor of dwPR, in Villasis town, Pangasinan.

Charged were Michael Tagle, 33, and Junard Franza, 27, residents of Barangay (village) Puelay in Villasis.  They were still at large, as of Wednesday.

The cases were filed at the Pangasinan Prosecutor’s Office on November 22.

The suspects are alleged members of a gun-for-hire group operating in Pangasinan, and are on the police drug watch list, according to the police.
