LUCENA CITY – Police arrested 17 suspected drug users, including six who previously surrendered, while allegedly having a pot session in a coastal village here on Tuesday, police said Wednesday.
Supt. Dennis de Leon, Lucena police chief, said the suspects, most of them fishers, were found sniffing “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a vacant lot in Barangay Dalahican around 2:30 p.m. after the station received a phone call on an ongoing pot session.
Six of the arrested were found to be past surrenderers who had vowed to reform. Lawmen seized 1.27 grams of shabu worth P2,350 and drug paraphernalia from the group.
Dalahican has long been known as haven of drug users, most of them fishermen and commercial fishing boat workers. CDG
