TUGUEGARAO CITY — Two women died while nine others were hurt when a passenger van collided with a truck in Gattaran town in Cagayan province.

Leonila Conde, 45, of Gonzaga town, and Marilyn Aglibao, 55, of Santa Ana town, both in Cagayan, died from head injuries when their passenger van, driven by Romel Encio, crashed into the forward truck being driven by Ian Pascua, on Monday (Nov. 21).

Encio was attempting to overtake a car before the accident, said Senior Insp. Harvey Pajarillo, Gattaran police chief. The impact flipped the van.

The wounded passengers were brought to various hospitals in Santa Ana and Gonzaga for treatment.  SFM
