MANILA — The Department of Finance said on Monday, a private individual has offered P1 million each in cash reward for information that would lead to the killers of Bureau of Internal Revenue-Makati City official Jonas Amora and Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Arturo Lachica.
The DOF also said it was “in contact with the highest levels of the Philippine National Police to arrest the perpetrators” of the murders of Amora on Monday and Lachica last week.
Both the BIR and the Bureau of Customs are DOF-attached agencies.
On Sunday, the DOF said the same private individual was offering a cash bounty for information that could lead to the arrest of Lachica’s killer, who gunned down the BOC official along España Avenue in Manila last Nov. 17.
“The private individual who earlier offered the P1 million for information on Lachica’s murder has now upped the reward. It is now P1 million each for information leading to the arrests of the persons responsible for the murders of Lachica and Amora,” the DOF said.
The agency, however, did not identify the donor of the total of P2 million reward, adding that “the identity of the would-be informants would also remain strictly confidential.” SFM
