DID YOU KNOW: Sen. Vicente Paterno

Today, Nov. 21, is the second death anniversary of former Sen. Vicente Paterno. A former Minister of Industry from 1974 to 1979 and Minister of Public Highways until 1980, he was elected senator in 1987 and served until 1992. Paterno was also one of the founders of Philippine Seven Corp., the company that brought the 7-Eleven convenience store chain into the country. —MARIELLE MEDINA, INQUIRER RESEARCH
