LUCENA CITY, Philippines — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with policemen during a drug bust in Barangay Cotta here Tuesday night, police said.
Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra, Quezon provincial police director, said Paul Erick Causapin, who was on the local police’s drug watch list, resisted arrest and shot it out with policemen who conducted the operation at 6:30 p.m.
Police arrested Jennifer Dapol, Causapin’s associate, after the bust.
Yarra said Causapin was eighth on the list of wanted crime suspects in Quezon.
Aside from drug pushing, Causapin was also allegedly involved in robberies and shooting incidents in this city and nearby towns, police said.
Police recovered a .38 cal. revolver and five plastic sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,480 from the slain drug suspect.
In a separate operation here on Wednesday, police arrested suspected drug pusher Daniel de la Cruz in this city.
