Dayan bounty raised to P1M

/ 03:18 AM November 16, 2016

An anticrime group has raised P1 million as cash reward for information that could lead to the arrest of Ronnie Dayan, who had been cited in contempt for snubbing summons to appear in last month’s congressional hearings on illegal drug activities in the national penitentiary.

The P1-million bounty for Dayan, a former driver, alleged bagman and lover of Sen. Leila de Lima, was announced on Tuesday in a media briefing by Ferdinand Topacio, counsel for Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, during which he showed bundled cash in P1,000 denomination.

Seven businessmen, he said, have pledged to contribute to the bounty.

“All roads lead to De Lima, and all roads lead us back to Dayan,” Topacio said, referring to allegations in the hearing of the House of Representatives that under her watch as justice secretary convicts turned the New Bilibid Prison into a center for a multibillion-peso illegal drug trade and that she received drug money for her senatorial campaign.
