MANILA, Philippines — Traffic along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)going out of Metro Manila wasstill normal and light as of Friday morning, according to a report by Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
Jay Bautista, traffic management and safety supervisor of NLEX, said they were expecting traffic volume to increase later in the afternoon as people begin to travel to the provinces for the annual commemoration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
An estimated 100,000 vehicles go through the NLEX during off-peak season and is expected to increase by 10 to 15 percent starting later.
Bautista said that they have 20 mobile patrol cars and rescue units on standby, which could respond faster to any accident because of their new Automatic Vehicle Locator System.
