Photos of Duterte and Ramos were shared on social media by PTV.
Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza told Malacañang reporters that the two discussed the issues of climate change, the peace process and foreign diplomatic engagements.
They also talked about “foreign postings of diplomats for national interest and current global imperatives.
Ramos earlier criticized Duterte and his Cabinet in a series of columns for a Manila broadsheet. He called the Duterte leadership a “sinking ship.”
He criticized Duterte’s initial stance against ratifying the Paris Agreement on climate change, which limits the global temperature rise due to carbon emissions. However, Duterte recently announced that he would uphold the agreement after his Cabinet voted to support it. KS/JE/rga
