Fire hits 50 homes in Quezon City; 150 families displaced

MANILA, Philippines — Hundreds of families were affected by a fire that swept through some 50 houses along Boni Serrano Avenue in Libis, Quezon City Thursday night, an officer from the Quezon City Fire Office said Friday.

Although no casualties were reported, Senior Fire Officer 2 Miguel Flores said the estimated number of families displaced by the fire which struck their homes at 11:19 p.m. was around 150.

He said the blaze made considerable damage to homes in the area and reached Task Force Alpha before it was put out at 2:05 a.m. Friday.

Flores said that follow-up investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.
