CEBU CITY — An alleged drug pusher was killed in what the police claimed to be a shootout following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Gabi, Cordova town, Cebu on Saturday night.

Alfie Lopez allegedly fired at the undercover policeman about 7:30 p.m. when he noticed that it was a sting operation, resulting in a shootout.

The police rushed Lopez to the government-run Vicente Sotto Medical Center in Cebu City but was declared dead on arrival by physicians, said Chief Insp. Dexter Calacar, information officer of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) information officer.

Recovered from the victim were one small and one medium sachets containing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), a .38-revolver and the P300 in marked money.  SFM
