CEBU CITY—Four police chiefs on Camotes Island in Cebu province have been relieved due to their poor performance in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Relieved were Senior Insp. Janus Giangan, chief of police of San Francisco town; Insp. Sigmund Freud Cruz, Tudela town; Insp. Jade Sumugat, Poro town; and Insp. Emmanuel Rabaya, Pilar town.

Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, Central Visayas regional police director, ordered the four officers to report to the Regional Public Safety Battalion.

Senior Supt. Eric Noble, Cebu police director, said: “We are in battle … You just have to be excellent in your work. Do your job with gusto,” he told policemen during the turnover ceremony here on Thursday.
