Suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa “must live to tell his story,” Senator Panfilo Lacson said on Thursday, as he disclosed that the alleged drug lord had already “validated” names in his blue book that included certain candidates in the last national and local elections.
Lacson said Espinosa’s imminent deportation must be given “utmost attention and security concern” by the government if it wanted to identify those who had allegedly benefitted from his drug-dealing activities.
Espinosa was arrested in arrested in Abu Dhabi last Oct. 17.
“These are individuals to whom he’s already validated several names in his blue book. The list includes the recipients of campaign contributions in the recent 2016 national and local elections,” he said.
“I’m telling you, there are people who are currently in touch with him as he awaits his repatration back to the PH,” the senator said when he opened the Senate probe on the killing of Espinosa’s father, Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. before dawn of November 5.
Lacson is chair of the Senate committee on public order and human rights conducting the probe along with the committee on justice and human rights.
“These are individuals to whom he’s already validated several names in his blue book. The list includes the recipients of campaign contributions in the recent 2016 national and local elections,” he said.
“Therefore, unlike his late father, the Albuera Mayor, he must live to tell his story,” the senator added.
The mayor was killed during an alleged firefight with the police while a search warrant was being served on him in his cell at the Baybay, Leyte sub-provincial jail. CBB/rga
