Cake factory worker dies after getting arm caught in flour mixer

JOHOR BARU, Malaysia – A 42-year-old woman was killed when her right arm was caught in a mixer machine at a cake factory in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh said the victim, identified as Noridah Nasir, died at 12:43 pm Tuesday at the factory in Taman Perindustrian Desa Plentong, which produces cakes for a popular restaurant chain.

He said the incident occurred when her right arm was caught in a flour mixer machine.

“We received a distress call and rushed to the scene to find that the victim was already dead,” he said in a statement, adding that Noridah’s body was sent to Hospital Sultan Ismail for post-mortem.
