WATCH: Duterte first among world leaders to congratulate Trump

President Duterte was the first among world leaders to congratulate US President-elect Donald Trump.


In a short clip made by Time magazine, Duterte sent out his warm wishes to the newly elected leader, saying, “I would like to congratulate President Trump.”

Duterte was followed by Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.


Other world leaders featured in the clip were Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Czech President Milos Zeman and French President Francois Hollande.  Gianna Francesca Catolico/rga
