3 nabbed, P5M marijuana seized in Cebu
CEBU CITY — Operatives of the 47th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army arrested three persons and seized P5 million worth of marijuana leaves and seeds as well as two guns in an operation in Sitio Taro, Barangay Bayong in Balamban town, west Cebu earlyi Tuesday.
Teodolo Ripdos, Allan Ripdos and Eduardo Ripdos are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly for “cultivating plants classified as dangerous drugs,” and illegal gun possession.
The 24,813 stalks of marijuana were burned by the operatives after the operation, said Captain Nell Cebrian, chief operations officer of the Philippine Army’s Task Force Cebu. SFM
