Marcos must not be buried at Libingan due to human rights record—Poe
Senator Grace Poe maintained on Tuesday that former President Ferdinand Marcos should not be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani given his human rights record during martial law.
“I maintain my position that ex-President Marcos, on account of his established human rights record alone during martial law and which fact had been recognized in a law duly passed by Congress, may not be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani without contravening the essence of that public policy,” Poe said in a statement.
“Be that as it may, whether we disagree with it, the nation will have to defer to the ruling of the Supreme Court as the final arbiter on this matter,” she said.
