Pangasinan columnist and radio commentator survives shooting

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — A newspaper columnist and radio commentator survived a gun attack at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
Virgilio Maganes was hit in the arm by motorcycle-riding gunmen as he commuted to town in a tricycle.
Maganes said he heard at least four shots fired in the direction of the tricycle.
He proceeded to a hospital for treatment.

Maganes is a columnist of local newspaper Northern Watch and was on his way to his regular broadcast at dwPR in the city when he was ambushed. CBB/rga
